And after a long hiatus, the Foamposite One returned in four colorways in 2007, including the original “Royal” style worn by Hardaway.

However, foam materials were not what they are today. Of course, “Royal” did well – even the “Blackout” colorway, but the other two releases in late 2007 managed to sell well in some places. 2008 saw the first House of Hoops exclusives come and go, but beyond that, foam releases were still rare.

The first Foamposite to release with a national graphic, the All-Star weekend sneaker caused such a stir that Nike was forced to cancel its online release as well as many in-store releases.

So, the shoes were even harder to come by. Originally released in 1997, Nike Basketball introduced its Foamposite technology in the form of two models – the Nike Air Foamposite One and the Air Foamposite Pro. Penny Hardaway released the first version of the One in the only original colorway, which also featured her 1CENT logo.

The Pros had a jewel Swoosh on the side and no Penny insignia to separate them. After the Foamposite Pro became the first of two older versions, it took a long time for the Foamposite One to return – an idea that’s hard to fathom today.
